Die Top Hits der 60er Jahre (international)
Anfang der 60er Jahre gab es diese Turmfrisuren à la Audrey Hepburn in Frühstück bei Tiffany. Dann kamen die Beatles und stellten alles auf den Kopf, Anfangs noch im Anzug, später dann im Bett, John Lennon, Yoko Ono und der Weltfrieden. Die Jugend entwickelte ihr eigenes Selbstbewußtsein. Da war der Beat, und er ließ keinen mehr los. Beatles-Songs sind die modernen Volkslieder. Wo man auch ist auf der Welt: drei Beatles-Refrains kann jeder mitsingen.
In den 60er Jahren wandelte sich die Musik vom leicht konsumierbaren Dreiminutensong in politischen Tiefgang. Das Ende der 60er bestand aus einem Knäuel von langen Haaren, ungewaschenen Schlaghosen, zerschlissenen Jesus-Latschen, Woodstock-Festivals, und endlosen Gitarrensoli als Ausdruck von freier und universeller Liebe.
Die Musik war wild und gefährlich und bewußtseinserweiternd. Soul Brother Number One James Brown, Guitar Hero Number One Jimi Hendrix, Bobby McGee’s Sister Number One Janis Joplin, und all die anderen Singer-Songwriter, Country-Musiker und Psychedelic-Rocker. Sie verbreiteten diese Vibes, die einzigartig waren und immer noch nachklingen.
Da passierte so viel: an der Ostküste siebte Andy Warhol Campbell Suppendosen auf die Leinwand, an der Westküste flanierten die Hippies über das Sunset Boulevard, und im Süden träumt Carlos Castaneda inmitten seiner Kakteensammlung. Und am Wochenende trampten halberleuchtete Zeitgenossen hinauf zum Grand Canyon, einzig und allein bekleidet mit Schlafsack und einem Buch von Hermann Hesse.
